North India is bracing for intense rainfall in the coming days
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued red alerts for heavy to extremely heavy rain across multiple states. Some regions are likely to witness torrential downpours accompanied by strong winds, while others face a heightened risk of floods and landslides. If you are in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Rajasthan, Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, or Northeast India, extra caution is advised. The weather is expected to shift dramatically, with conditions turning far from normal.
On August 11 and 13, several parts of Uttarakhand are expected to receive extremely heavy rainfall. River water levels in the hill districts may rise significantly, increasing the risk of landslides. The IMD has urged residents to avoid non-essential travel and remain in safe locations during this period.
